Lyn Yarows Run/Walk Saturday at Hudson Mills

The Lyn Yarows5K Run/Walk will be held Saturday with all the proceeds going to Hudson Mills Metropark.

"Wewill be placing a bench, a table and a tree in her honor," said Katie Jazwinski, one of the event organizors.
"Lyn continues to be an inspiration to many people and we would love for everyone to carry on her memory through action."
The run will be at 8:30 a.m. for the kids dash and 9 a.m. for the 5K.All will be held at Hudson Mills Metro Park cross country course (Oak Meadows). Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.
Lyn Yarows of Dexter died Sept. 26, 2006 of lung cancer. She was 51. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dexter, Yarowstaught religious educationand was active in several education boards and community groups.Lyn's twin children, Kevin and Kristen, will be juniors this year at Dexter High School.
"Lyn was the one person in the community that you knew you could count on," Jazwinski said. "Regardless of the time of day or the cost or the sacrifice, Lyn would always be there for a person in need."
This year's theme is"How have you made a difference today?"
"We all know that Lyn made a difference every day so let's carry this on in her name," Jazwinski said."Make sure you get out and make a difference today."
The cost of the event is$20 and there is no late fee. Everyone will receive an event t-shirt and finishers will medal with the theme on the back.
There also will berefreshments, great entertainment (some of Lyn's music) and tons of give-aways.

"We would like to give a special thanks to Busch's Market, Meijer, Life Is Good and Running Fit for all of their donations," Jazwinski said. "Also, if you cannot participate this year in the event, we ask one favor of you.
We would like everyone to be exercising at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Please take sometime to walk/jog/run for 30 to 60 minutes and think of Lyn."
