Dexter conducts hoops camp

The 2008 Dexter boys' basketball camp wrapped up last Friday as 84 hoopsters in seventh- through 12th-grades participated.

Campers were instructed on basketball fundamentals, as well as the Dexter basketball system. Conducting the camp was Dexter boys' head coach Randy Swoverland. Assisting Swoverland was Dreadnaught girls' head coach Mike Bavineau and assistants Fred Ligrow, Joel Anderson, Matt Seidl, Matt Brown, Al Snider and Jason Miller.
Players also took part in drill stations as well as contests and game play.
At the camp's conclusion, awards were handed out.
Receiving the camp's Daily Hardest Worker Award were Ryan Kimball, Tyler Dunham, Alex Thompson, Hank Dreffs, Dan Newell, Tony Shiguango, Ben Kill, Brian Condron, Derek Seidl and James Fischer.
Earning the Hot Shot Award were Brandon Vantland, Matt Muchmore, Haden Quinn, Cameron LaFontaine and Adam Sikorski.
Taking home the Triathlon Award were Jacob VanHoof, Paul Lemine, Newell, Dunham and Shiguango.
Receiving the 1-on-1 Award were Brandon Bellottie, Kyle VanDusen, Newell, Dunham and VanHoof.
Presented with the Free Throw Award were Jordan Rodriguez, Steve Miller, Travis Ratliff, Ethan Kremkus and Dunham.
Earning the Camp Hardest Worker Award were Stefan Elslager and Bellottie.
