Dexter Village officials invite the entire community to join the Village Council for "Stepping into Cityhood," a town hall meeting to be held at 7 p.m. June 19 at the Dexter Senior Center.

Ice cream social
The Dexter Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Ice Cream Social from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Monument Park.
There will be hand-dipped ice cream, rides, petting farm and live pony rides, face painting and craft booths.
Entertainment will include performances by the Dancer's Edge Competition Teams, Dexter High School Dance Team and the Dexter Academy of Dance and Music.
There will also be events held at participating area shops and restaurants in and around the Monument Park area.
Parks Commission vacancy
The Village of Dexter Parks Commission has a vacancy for a term to expire in June 2010.
The Parks Commission is responsible for advising the Village Council on parks and recreation activities within the Village of Dexter and for preparing and implementing the Village of Dexter Parks and Recreation Master Plan.
The Parks Commission meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Village Offices. Interested individuals should submit an application at the Village Offices, 8123 Main St. or e-mail abishop@villageofdexter.org.
