Parks Commission vacancy

The Village of Dexter Parks Commission has a vacancy for a term to expire in June of 2010.
The Parks Commission is responsible for advising the Village Council on parks and recreation activities within the Village of Dexter and for preparing and implementing the Village of Dexter Parks and Recreation Master Plan.†
The Parks Commission meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Village Offices. Interested individuals should submit an application at the Village Offices, 8123 Main Street or email abishop@villageofdexter.org.
Dexter Village officials would like to invite the entire community to join the Village Council for "Stepping into Cityhood," a town hall meeting to be held at 7 p.m. June 19 at the Dexter Senior Center.

Dexter-Ann Arbor runs
Outdoor activity enthusiasts have an open invitation to participate in the Dexter-Ann Arbor 1/2-mile marathon, 5k and 10k runs.
The Soup Kitchen Stampede kicks off the race Friday at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) with entertainment until 11:30 p.m.
Late registrants can join up on Saturday at 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. during the race expo and kids run.
Bus service for the 10k runs from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. Sunday (must be in line 30 minutes prior to service close to be guaranteed service). Service for the half-mile marathon and 5k run are at 6:45 and 7:30 a.m. respectively, the same time limits and 30-minute guideline apply.
The 10k begins at 8 a.m., the 1/2-mile marathon at 8:50 a.m. and the 5k run and walk at 9:05 a.m.
