Vehicle thefts

Thieves entered an unlocked 2002 PT Cruiser and 2001 Lexus sometime between 9 a.m. on May 7 and 7 a.m. May 8.
The vehicles, located in the 8300 block of Dexter-Pinckney Road, were ransacked for valuables. Miscellaneous items were taken including a Global Positioning System set of hardware, according to Washtenaw County Sheriff's Deputies.
During the same time period other vehicles, some of which were unidentified by Sheriff's Deputies, were broken into and, again, miscellaneous small items were taken as a result of the vehicles' ransacking. Some of those vehicles were in the 4700 block of Dexter-Pinckney Road. One vehicle parked in a garage in the same area was also unlocked and also netted the thieves more unidentified stolen goods.
Some of the identified vehicles include a 2005 Chevy pickup truck in the 8300 block of Wylie Road,
None of the vehicles were otherwise damaged or had any original equipment removed.
Officials say are not sure if the incidents are related, although they each have been filed under separate reports.
Warrants
Sheriff's Deputies made a warrant arrest on May 4. At 10:30 a.m. the deputies found a 22-year-old white male who was wanted on multiple outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
The arrest was made when the deputies found the man in the area of Dexter-Pinckney Road and Alice Hill.
Vandalism
Deputies responded to a call from the 4600 block of East Lock Alpine Drive at 7 a.m. May 11.
The caller reported damage to property and vehicles. According to deputies, the caller said the vandalized property was last seen unharmed at 10 p.m. the previous day.
Someone reported malicious destruction of property to a vehicle in the 8500 block of Island Lake Road.
Deputies say the incident was reported at 8 a.m. May 19 and that the owner of the vehicle claims to have last seen the vehicle undamaged at 6 p.m. the previous day.
The owners of yard decorations and ornaments will have to pay $500 to replace those damaged or taken from their property in the 9400 block of West Huron River Drive.
According to deputies, the damages were reported at 5 a.m. May 7 and the items were last seen unharmed at 10 p.m. May 6.
