On April 26, Dexter renewed an old rivalry when it traveled to play a powerful Brighton club at Brighton. After falling behind early, Dexter rebounded with Adam Umstead scoring three tries to secure the game for Dexter, 19-5.
In its next game, Dexter hosted Northville at its home pitch (field) behind Wylie Middle School. The Dexter club came out fast in this contest, winning the game in a rout, scoring four times in the first half.
Leading Dexter was Pat Farrell, who scored three times for the winners, and Mike Swager and Mike Silvasi who also crossed the try line for Dexter. Silvasi was perfect on extra points as Dexter prevailed 35-0.
Dexter next travels to Elkhart, Ind. Friday and Saturday for an invitation-only tournament involving the top 16 high school rugby teams in the Midwest. This is the first year Dexter has been awarded this honor.
