Dreads compete in Ypsi meet

Dexter track and field competed in the Golden Triangle Meet last Friday at Ypsilanti.

No scores were kept at the meet.
In the boys' meet, Nick Butler finished first for the Dreadnaughts in the pole vault clearing 13-feet. Teammate Jeremy Horner was second with a mark of 12-6, while Steve Ferguson was fourth also with a 12-6.
Butler crossed the line fifth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.79.
Ross Seagram finished fifth in the 100 meters in 11.50 for Dexter.
Alex Hess placed second in the 800-meter run with a clocking of 2:02.82. He also was third in the 1,600-meter run in 4:36.54 for the Dreadnaughts.
In the 3,200-meter run, Bobby Aprill broke the tape first for Dexter in 9:12.71, while teammate Ben Steavenson was third in 9:32.24.
In the girls' meet, Nyki Caldwell was first in the high jump for the Dreadnaughts with a height of 4-10, while Sherri Gamble was third with a mark of 4-6.
In pole vault, Becca Pilkerton was first clearing 11-6. Janelle Heldt was second with a mark of 8-6, while Carly Dalton and Maria Brundage tied for third with a height of 8-0.
Mari Couasnon placed second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:24.79, while Remme Cortright was fourth in 2:28.09.
Cortright bested the field in the 1,600-meter run finishing first in 5:23.34.
Kristen Yarows ended up fourth in the 3,200-meter run in 12.19.81.
The Dreadnaught foursome of Ellen Riehle, Pilkerton, Cortright and Couasnon placed fourth in the 1,600-meter relay with a clocking of 4:50.26.
Abby Hess, Caci Dishman, Yarows and Riehle combined to finish fourth in the 3,200-meter relay in 10:37.50.
On April 29, Dexter hosted Southeastern Conference White Division foe Tecumseh in a dual meet. The Dreadnaughts topped the Indians 84-53.
In the boys' competition, Ryan Kantola placed first in the high jump with a height of 6-0, while Kevin Novak was third with a 5-8. Kantola also was first in the long jump with a measurement of 19-1.
Michael Schultz finished third in the shot put with a heave of 40-8 and third in the discus with a toss of 114-6.
Butler crossed the line first in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.3. He also was first in the 300-meter hurdles in 42.7. Kantola was third in the event in 46.0.
Seagram was first in the 100 meters in 11.2, while Adam Cares was second in 11.67. Seagram also was first in the 200 meters with a time of 23.4.
Mike Swantek finished third in the 400-meter run in 57.3 for Dexter.
Aprill was first in the 800-meter run in 2:03.1, while Hess was second in 2:06.4 and Steavenson third in 2:14.6.
Steavenson was first in the 1,600-meter run in 4:37.3, while Hess was second in 4:42.9 and Ken Metz third in 4:52.7.
Aprill was first in the 3,200-meter run in 10:24.6, while Steavenson was second in 10:49.7 and Joe Jansen third in 11:04.8.
In the girls' meet, Tecumseh prevailed 78-59 over Dexter.
Caldwell was first in the high jump with a 5-1, while Gamble was second with a 4-8.
Christine Murray finished first in the pole vault clearing 9-6, while Brundage was second with a mark of 9-0 and Heldt third with a height of 8-6.
Emily Hattie placed third in the discus for the Dreadnaughts with a toss of 61-1 ?.
Pilkerton was third in the long jump with a leap of 14-8, while Stephanie Ward was third with a 14-6 ? length.
Gamble was third in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.4. Pilkerton was third in the 300-meter hurdles in 54.3.
Ward crossed the line first in the 100 meters in 13.4. She also was first in the 200 meters in 28.4. Pilkerton was third in 29.7.
Pilkerton ended up second in the 400-meter run in 1:05.4.
In the 800-meter run, Riehle was second in 2:34.7, while Yarows was third in 2:37.4.
In the 1,600-meter run, Dishman was second in 5:52.8, while Hess was third in 5:54.6.
Yarows finished first in the 3,200-meter run in 12:37.8, while Dishman was second in 12:41.9.
Dexter next travels to the Lakeland Invitational for a meet Friday at 2 p.m.
