Dexter baseball dropped a doubleheader to visiting county rival Chelsea losing 6-5, 11-5 last Thursday.

In the opener, senior Chris Marsh pitched well enough to win tossing a two-hitter.
"Our intensity wasn't there," said Dexter coach Greg Berklich. "I was very disappointed."
On April 28, the Dreadnaughts (11-13, 5-7 Southeastern Conference) lost a doubleheader to host Saline 10-0, 8-2.
In the second game, Marsh led Dexter with two hits.
"We didn't play very well," Berklich said.
Last Monday, visiting Dexter swept a doubleheader against Ann Arbor Pioneer winning 7-4, 7-4.
"That was a real good win," Berklich said. "I'm really pleased with our progress."
In the opener, Mike Clutterbuck struck out seven earning the win from the hill.
Offensively, Nate Shaw clubbed a home run, while Steve Zalucha had three hits and Marsh two hits, including a double.
In the second game, Zalucha picked up the win striking out three. Joe Berklich pitched well in relief for the Dreads.
At the plate, Nick Gonet had an RBI single and Marsh two hits to spark the offense.
Last Saturday, Dexter participated in the Whitmore Lake Invitational.
In their first contest, the Dreadnaughts lost to Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard 11-1.
Ty Boik and Clutterbuck each had two hits for Dexter in the defeat.
In Game 2, the Dreads beat Morrice 13-2.
Scott Crompton, Clutterbuck and Berklich each connected for two hits.
In its third game, Dexter defeated the host Trojans 18-2.
Clutterbuck had three hits, while Berklich had three doubles and Gonet two hits.
The Dreadnaughts next visit Tecumseh for a doubleheader Thursday at 4 p.m.
On Monday, Dexter hosts Temperance Bedford at 4 p.m.
On May 15, the Dreadnaughts host Brooklyn Columbia Central at 4 p.m.
JV Baseball
On April 28, Dexter's JV baseball team dropped a doubleheader to visiting Saline 8-1, 13-1.
On April 26, the visiting Dreadnaughts (9-10) swept Manchester winning a doubleheader 13-7, 17-2.
In the opener, Nick Bidwell recorded the win from the mound for Dexter.
At the plate, Robert Mayrand finished 4-for-5 with two doubles, while Dan Flowers was 3-for-3 for the Dreads.
In the nightcap, Nathan Opland earned the victory from the hill for Dexter.
On April 24, the visiting Dreadnaughts split with Ann Arbor Huron losing 10-0 and winning 9-7.
In the second game victory over the River Rats, Nick Gonet picked up the win from the rubber.
With the stick, Opland was 2-for-3 with a triple.
Last Saturday, Dexter dropped a doubleheader to Ann Arbor Pioneer losing 9-3, 12-2.
In the first game, Brian Wargo finished 3-for-4 with a double to lead the Dreadnaughts.
Last Thursday, Dexter swept rival Chelsea winning 8-6, 11-2.
In Game 1, Wargo was the winning pitcher.
With the stick, Gonet finished 2-for-2.
In the nightcap, Bidwell earned the victory from the mound.
Offensively, Jordan Rodriguez ended up 2-for-4.
Dexter next hosts Tecumseh Thursday at 4 p.m.
On Monday, the Dreads visit Temperance Bedford for a game at 4 p.m.
On May 15, Dexter travels to Brooklyn Columbia Central for a contest at 4 p.m.
Freshman Baseball
Dexter's freshman baseball team participated in a tournament at Hartland April 26.
In their first game, the Dreadnaughts lost to the host Eagles 13-2.
Recording hits in the contest for Dexter were Justin Hart, Andrew Gagne and Andrew Humitz.
In Game 2 of the tournament, the Dreadnaughts defeated Chelsea 6-5.
Ian Boyd recorded the win from the mound, striking out seven and allowing only four hits.
At the plate, Humitz was 2-for-4, while Hart was 2-for-3.
In its third game, Dexter lost to Grand Blanc 6-1.
Alex Wallis, Nate Jones, Kevin Paulun and Ryan Souder each had hits for the Dreadnaughts.
On April 24, visiting Dexter split a doubleheader with Ann Arbor Huron losing 8-6 and winning 6-4.
In Game 1, Hart finished 3-for-4, while Dan Whitaker had one hit and two RBIs.
In the second game, Boyd earned the victory yielding nine hits.
Noah Hiser ended up 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Paulun was 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
On April 29, Dexter lost to host Carleton Airport 12-2, 5-4.
In the opener, Tyler Dunham was 2-for-3, while Paulun and Souder each had one hit.
In Game 2, Dunham pitched well in defeat allowing six hits and fanning three.
At the plate, Jones, Hiser and Hart all finished 2-for-3, while Humitz was 2-for-4.
