State Rep. Pam Byrnes, D-Lyndon Township, announced her next coffee hour will be Monday.
The purpose of the coffee hour is for Rep. Byrnes to meet and talk with her constituents about the issues they feel are important to them. It is an informal, free event open to the public.
The coffee hour will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday at the Foggy Bottom Coffee House, 7065 Dexter-Ann Arbor Road, in Dexter.
For more information, call 1-800-645-1581.
Boy Scout flower sale
Boy Scout Troop 425 will hold its annual Flower Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Chelsea State Bank headquarters, at the corner of Old US-12 and M-52 in Chelsea.
Hanging baskets, flats of annuals, perennials, and some vegetables will be displayed for sale. This is a perfect opportunity to buy a Mother's Day gift or flowers for your yard, and also support your local Boy Scout troop.
The Boy Scouts will also have a car wash and bottle return drive at the same location from noon to 4 p.m. and will be by donation. The bottle drive runs concurrently with the flower sale. Proceeds from the car wash and bottle drive will benefit Faith In Action.
Dexter Community Players
"The Crucible" will be presented at the Copeland Auditorium at 7720 Ann Arbor Street at 8 p.m. on May 9, 10, 16 and 17. Performances will also be held at 2 p.m. on May 11 and 17.
The Crucible is set during 1692 and portrays the Puritan purge of witch craft in Salem. While 17th century Colonial New England is the setting, the play itself was written by Miller in the early 1950s when McCarthyism was taking place throughout the country and many citizens were being unjustly accused of supporting communism
Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. The venue is wheelchair accessible. For more information, call 1-734-424-4100 (ext. 7327).
