ACES is a one-day youth exercise program intended to highlight the importance of and need for youth fitness. Michigan schools have joined together in large numbers to role model their commitment to health. Last year nearly 1,000 schools and over 450,000 students participated in the ACES event.
At Mill Creek, students celebrated ACES by exercising together outside on the track behind the school for 20 to 30 minutes. At Creekside, the students exercised together by walking or running on the track, as well.
National organizations supporting ACES, founded in 1989 in New Jersey, include the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, National Recreation and Parks Association and the National Association for Heath and Fitness.
