Little League hosts opening day event

Saturday, Dexter Little League will hold its Opening Day ceremonies 11 a.m. at Mill Creek Middle School field.
The season's first pitch will occur at noon.
Over 500 boys and girls will participate in the Little League Opening Day ceremonies.
Also Saturday, the Dexter Little League will be sponsoring a fund-raiser to support Andrew Gagne.An eighth-grader at Mill Creek, Gagne is undergoing treatment for leukemia at Mott's Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor. The DLL is hosting a "We're Hair For You" fund-raising event in support of Gagne.
Dexter players will pay $10 to have their head shaved or have their hair braided and decorated with No. 1 baseball beads.
Other donations will also be welcomed.
Reed's Barbering and Monica's Salon in Dexter and Gemini Salon in Chelsea will be donating time.
