Dreads compete in Pirate relays

Dexter's girls' track and field team participated in the Pinckney Freshman-Sophomore Relays last Saturday.

In the discus, Sara Bayer and Amanda Morris combined for a fifth-place finish. Bayer had a toss of 51-feet, seven inches, while Morris had a throw of 49-10 for the Dreadnaughts.
In the high jump, Nyki Caldwell reached a height of 4-3.
Alex Dutcher and Stephanie Lim teamed to placed second in the pole vault. Dutcher cleared 7-6, while Lim had a mark of 6-6.
Emily Van Dusen recorded a leap of 11-7, while Kayla Chenault measured 10-4 ? in the long jump for Dexter.
In the 300-meter low hurdles, Sarah Breuninger stopped the clock in 59.94 for the Dreadnaughts.
Caci Dishman and Van Dusen combined to place third in the sprint medley relay in 3:10. Nicole Swisher and Natalie Collins finished in 3:37 for Dexter.
In the distance medley relay, Carmen Cicchella, Maggie Grundler, Elizabeth Love and Dishman had a time of 15:11.
Morris, Lim, Bayer and Caldwell finished in 1:02.80 in the 400-meter relay.
Candice Weisner, Vanessa Schade, Julie Cohen and Cara Kovall recorded a 2:07.62 in the 800-meter relay for the Dreadnaughts.
In the 1,600-meter relay, Love, Grundler, Breuninger and Weisner stopped the clock in 5:01.90.
On April 9, Dexter's boys' track and field team competed in a meet at Saline.
In the high jump, Ryan Kantola placed first with a mark of 6-0 for the Dreadnaughts.
Dexter swept the top three spots in the pole vault as Nick Butler finished first clearing 13-0, while Jeremy Horner was second with an 11-6 and Steve Ferguson third, also with an 11-6.
Kantola was first in the long jump with a measurement of 19-5 ?.
Butler placed second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.16. He also was second in the 300-meter hurdles in 43.19.
Ross Seagram crossed the line second in the 100 meters in 11.47. Adam Cares was third in 12.00 for the Dreadnaughts.
Seagram was second in the 200 meters with a clocking of 23.77, while Ethan Rickelmann was third in 24.59.
Bobby Aprill was a double winner for Dexter finishing first in the 800-meter run in 1:59.61 and first in the 3,200-meter run in 9:21.51.
Ben Steavenson placed third in the 3,200-meter run in 9:45.38 for the Dreadnaughts.
In the 400-meter relay, Nick Crow, Kantola, Cares and Seagram broke the tape first with a time of 45.57.
Dexter next travels to Ohio to compete in the Mehock Relays Friday and Saturday.
On Tuesday, the Dreadnaughts visit Adrian for a meet at 4:30 p.m.
On April 25, Dexter travels to Mason for a meet at 3:30 p.m.
