At the helm for the Dreadnaughts this season were head coach Michael McHugh and dive coach Manny Billegas. Senior tri-captains were Scott Dyer, Sean Kilian and Ben Steavenson. Additional senior leadership was provided by Ryan Aliapoulios, Kevin Butler, Matt Cambridge, Walker McHugh, Tim Pituch, Danny Rion and Joey Sayre.

The number "10" had special significance for the Dreadnaughts this year. The 10 seniors brought valuable experience that was instrumental to the team winning its 10th straight Southeastern Conference White Division championship and capturing 10th place at the Division II state meet.

Cambridge received the SEC Sportsmanship Award for Dexter.

Junior diver Devin Bergeson was awarded Most Improved. This award is presented to the person, selected by his teammates, who has demonstrated most improvement in all aspects of the sport during the course of the season.

The Most Dedicated Award went to Dyer. This honor recognizes the person, selected by his teammates, who has shown dedication to the team through his actions in and out of the pool during the course of the season.

Stephen Sobczak earned the Rookie of the Year Award, presented to the freshman who scores the most points at the SEC meet.

Class awards are presented to one member of each class, selected by the coach, who through his actions and words most exemplifies the special attributes of dedication and sportsmanship that contribute to the success of the team. Class awards this season were presented to freshman Austin Daugherty, sophomore Jesse Claflin, junior Karl Kumbier and Kilian.

Most Valuable Person was awarded to Sayre. The MVP award is presented to the player, selected by his teammates, who is considered the most valuable based on his performance in and out of the pool during the course of the season. Sayre scored in two individual events and two relays at the state meet.

This season seven Dreadnaughts were recognized as state meet qualifiers. These included seniors Dyer, McHugh, Sayre, and Steavenson; juniors Robet Spiegel and Taylor Verna; and Sobczak.

Earning All-State distinction were those swimmers who finished in the top eight in their events at the state championship. These included Sayre, who finished sixth in the 50 freestyle, the 200 medley relay team of Sobczak, Verna, Steavenson, and McHugh, finishing seventh, and the 200 freestyle relay team of Sayre, Spiegel, Dyer, and McHugh, finishing eighth.

The Dreadnaughts were equally impressive in the classroom this season, epitomizing the concept of student athlete. Fifteen swimmers and divers earned DHS Scholar Athlete awards, for a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or above. Earning the award were Scott Crompton, Liam Donevan, Liam Ellmann, Andrew Leonard, Jeff Pituch, Tim Pituch, Aliapoulios, Cambridge, Claflin, Daugherty, Dyer, Kilian, Kumbier, McHugh and Verna.

Receiving the SEC Scholar Athlete Award, for seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above, were Tim Pituch, Aliapoulios, Cambridge, Dyer, Kilian and McHugh.

As a senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or above, Pituch qualified for Academic All-American.

Captains for next season, as elected by their teammates, will be Crompton, Kumbier, and Verna.
