Thefts and fraud

A business owner in the 7000 block of Dexter-Ann Arbor Road reported an incident of retail fraud.

Deputies were called at 1 p.m. March 17 and a suspect was identified and charged, according to deputies.

The case was sent to the prosecutor's office for review, deputies said.

A Waste Management container in the 3100 block of Baker Road was reported stolen on March 10.

Deputies estimated that the larceny occurred between the early morning of March 7 and the morning of March 10.

A vehicle was reported stolen between 10 p.m. March 17 and 5:45 p.m. March 18, when the owner called deputies.

The vehicle was parked at the owner's residence in the 7400 block of Dexter-Pinckney Road.

Deputies recovered the 1996 Ford Contour the next day, according to the sheriff's department.

A vehicle was broken into between midnight and 6 a.m. in the 10000 block of North Territorial Road recently, but a date was not noted on the report released.

The vehicle was unlocked, according to deputies.

An in-dash radio and miscellaneous electronic equipment were taken.

Multiple individuals are reported to have broken into a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am on March 31.

The vehicle was parked in the 8000 block of Main Street. The incident was reported at 4 p.m. that day, according to sheriffs.

A wallet left out in plain site was taken, according to Sgt. Beth Gieske.

"We are really trying to encourage people not to leave valuables out in the open in their vehicles," she said.

"We feel that a lot of these incidents could be avoided if things like money, jewelry, wallets and other items are kept in pockets out of the vehicle or at least in the vehicle's compartments."

A light-colored four-door vehicle described as "boxy" was seen leaving the area, according to Gieske.

Traffic related incidents

Deputies were sent to investigate a traffic crash near North Territorial and Donovan roads about 7 p.m. March 9.

The 48-year-old man involved in the crash was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol while driving his 2004 Dodge pick up.

The case has been turned over to the prosecutor's office for review, according to deputies.

A traffic stop conducted near Forest and Inverness streets at around 6 p.m. March 14 resulted in an arrest.

The driver of the 1996 Black Honda was brought in on charges of suspected marijuana use.

The investigation of a traffic crash at 9:50 p.m. March 16 led to the arrest of a 45-year-old man who was wanted on outstanding felony warrants.

The crash occurred in the 7200 block of York Street, according to deputies.

Deputies responded to the 7000 block of Dexter-Ann Arbor Road to check on the well being of a man sitting in a vehicle for a long period of time.

The 19-year-old man was found in possession of open intoxicants in his vehicle.

The man was turned over to a parent and a report was submitted to the prosecutor's office for review, according to deputies.

A 41-year-old man was arrested at Webster Church and North Territorial roads at 9:15 p.m. on March 22.

He was suspected of operating under the influence in his black 2003 Ford Focus, according to deputies.

Domestic violence

Deputies responded and investigated a domestic disturbance in the 9300 block of Stoneview at 10 p.m. March 23.

A 35-year-old male suspect was arrested and taken to the Washtenaw County Jail pending charges, according to deputies.

A domestic assault was reported at 4:30 p.m. March 28 in the 8100 block of Main Street.

The 21-year-old man involved in the incident was arrested and put in the county jail, deputies said.
