Laura Prochaska, daughter of Gerrie and Joe Prochaska of Dexter, and Derek Ayers, son of Carolyn and Mark Ayers of Whitmore Lake, are engaged and planning an Oct. 11, 2008 wedding at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

The future bride is a 2002 graduate of Dexter High School and a 2006 graduate of Michigan State University. She is a first-grade teacher. The future groom is a 2002 graduate of Dexter High School and a 2007 graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a degree in secondary education.

Kate Pocock of Grand Rapids, daughter of Rob and Cindy Pocock of Holland, and Jeff Heydlauff of Traverse City, son of Mark and Amy Heydlauff of Chelsea, are engaged and planning an Aug. 2, 2008 wedding at Dimnent Chapel in Holland. The future bride graduated from Holland High School, and received an education major at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. She is a sixth grade math and science teacher at East Grand Rapids Public Schools. The future groom graduated from Chelsea High School and received a business major at Hope College in Holland. He is employed with Action Water Sports in Traverse City.

Cassandra Ayers of Lansing, daughter of Mark and Carolyn Ayers of Whitmore Lake, and Michael Panik of Dafter Mich., son of Dennis and Cindy Panik of Dafter Mich., are engaged and planning an Aug. 2, 2008 wedding at Grace Bible Church in Ann Arbor. The future bride graduated from Dexter High School in 1999 and received a bachelor's degree in animal science from Michigan State University in 2003. She is currently a student in the College of Veterinary Medicine at MSU. The future groom graduated in 1997 from Sault Ste Marie High School and received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 2001 from MSU. He is a Civil Engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the St. Mary's Falls Canal (the Soo Locks) in Sault Ste Marie.

Molly Elizabeth Welton of Chelsea and Kevin Patrick Boyle of Wilmington, Del., are engaged and planning a November 2008 wedding at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea. The future bride is the daughter of Wayne R. Welton and Jeanne Christensen, both of Chelsea, and the future groom is the son of Don and Judy Boyle of Wilmington, Del.

Molly graduated from Chelsea High School in 2001. She earned a Bachelor's degree in business administration from Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame in 2005 and a master's degree in accounting from Villanova University in 2006. Molly currently works as a senior auditor for Ernst & Young in Boston.

Kevin graduated from St. Mark's High School of Wilmington, Del., in 2001. He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 2005 and a master's degree in electrical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2007. Kevin currently works as a communications systems engineer for Vanu, Inc. in Cambridge, Mass.

Chelsea Anne Kapela of Ann Arbor, daughter of Daniel and Anne Kapela of Dexter, and Nathanael Maldonado of Ann Arbor, son of Charles and Laural Maldonado of Rogers City, are engaged and planning a Sept. 13, 2008 wedding at All Saints Chapel in Howell.

The future bride graduated from Dexter High School and attended Washtenaw Community College and Eastern Michigan University. The future groom graduated from Rogers City High School and from Northern Michigan University in Marquette. He is employed with Giddy Up/Color Loco as an Illustrator/Designer.
