April 7-11

A spring break day camp for first to fifth graders will be offered April 7-11 at the Murray Recreation Center. Activities will include group games, crafts, swimming, and nature programs. The fee for the camp is $110. The camp is offered from 9:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. daily. Pre-camp beginning at 8:15 a.m. and post-camp until 5:15 p.m. is available for an additional fee. Eddy Discovery Center

12,000 Years of Local Native American History: 2 p.m., Sunday. Are you fascinated by Native Americans artifacts? Join us as Dr. Henry Wright, internationally-known anthropologist, talks about the accomplishments of the earliest caribou and mammoth hunters to the agricultural villagers found by the European explorers in Southeastern Michigan. The Discovery Center's Burg collection of several thousand projectile points found in local farm fields will be featured. Bring your own points for ID after the program. Program length 60 minutes.

Night of the Amphibians: 8 p.m., Saturday, April 12. Join naturalist Tom Hodgson for a lively presentation featuring frogs, toads, salamanders and quivering masses of eggs.

Wildlife of the Americas: 2 p.m., Sunday, April 20. Experience the fantastic array of wildlife found in North, South, and Central America as Randy Baker brings us live animals from his collection.
