Champion takes second at Arnold Classic

Champion Gymnastics Level 7 team finished second at the Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio March 3. The gymnasts were able to see the host of the meet, Arnold Schwarzenegger, along with Olympic gymnasts Paul Hamm and Morgan Hamm.

Champion's Stephanie Lim, 14, placed first on vault with a 9.025, first on floor with 9.05, second on bars with a 9.0, third on beam with an 8.885, and first place all around with a score of 35.925.

Gabbie Ralph, 11, was first on floor with a 9.2, second on beam with an 8.9, 8.75 on bars for second, third on vault with a 9.0, and first place all around with a score of 35.85. Maddie Kurcz, 9, took first on vault with a score of 9.225, 8.825 on floor, 8.775 on bars, 8.65 on beam, for an all around score of 34.45.

Emily Slater, 11, placed first on beam scoring 9.175, third on floor with an 8.85, third on bars with an 8.6, fourth on vault with an 8.8, and second all around with a tally of 35.425. Claire Tewksbury, 13, took high marks on bars with a 9.075 for third, 9.075 on floor for fourth, 8.75 on beam for fourth place, 8.875 on vault and third all around with a score of 35.775.

Taylor Livingston, 11, scored high on floor with a 9.225 for fourth, 9.0 on vault, 8.825 on beam for fourth place, 8.1 on bars and an all around score of 35.15. Morgan Taylor, 12, finished second on beam with an 8.675 and 8.5 on vault.

Level 9 gymnasts competing for Champion in Columbus were Rachel Marks, 15, taking third on bars scoring an 8.95, and high marks on vault with an 8.8 and 8.35 on floor and beam for an all around posting of 34.45.

Chelsea Larsen, 17, was ninth on bars with an 8.7, on floor an 8.175, and on beam an 8.0. Alyssa Young, 14, scored an 8.1 on vault and beam, a 7.9 on floor and an all around score of 31.275.

On March 2, Champion's Level 5 team participated in the Arnold Classic.

Jaime Uren, 10, placed first on bars with a 9.450, first on beam with a 9.075, fourth on vault with an 8.555, fifth on floor with an 8.9, and first all around with a score of 35.975.

Caylin Livingston, 9, took second on beam scoring an 8.75, third on floor with a 9.0, sixth on bars with an 8.7, third on vault with an 8.05 and third all around with a tally of 34.5. Eliza Judge, 10, was second on beam with an 8.9, bars 8.65, 10th on vault with an 8.175, floor 7.95 and 12th all around with a score of 33.675.

Katie Tewksbury, 8, had high scores on bars with an 8.525, floor with an 8.150, vault with a 7.95 and beam with a 7.15 for an all around mark of 31.775.

The Level 5 team is coached by Kristy Reske. The Level 7 and Level 9 teams are coached by Michelle and Dave Patterson.
