Dexter senior goaltender Nick Ceccolini was named Dreadnaught hockey MVP this past season. A first team All-Southeastern Conference pick, Ceccolini was also selected Division 3 All-State honorable mention.

Dexter hockey concluded its year earlier this week with its end-of-season banquet.
The Dreadnaughts finished the year with an overall record of 11-12-2 and a Southeastern Conference mark of 4-3-1.
Dexter lost to Jackson Lumen Christi 1-0 in overtime in a Division 3 pre-regional match-up ending its season.
"On the whole, I'm happy with the season," said Dexter coach Gary Howell. "We boosted our strength of schedule playing some really good teams. The kids did a good job."
Named MVP of this year's Dreadnaught squad was goaltender Nick Ceccolini. The senior net minder, also named MVP last season, was selected Division 3 All-State honorable mention and first team All-SEC this past year.
"He's a great player," Howell said. "He's very talented. How Nick went, we went. I'm going to miss him."
Howell said he'd miss all of his seniors.
"They were all good players," he said of Austin Shapiro, Hunter Lyons, Andrew Hatch and Donnie Kennedy. "We'll have to find a way to make up for their loss."
Shapiro, a defenseman, was also named first team All-SEC. He also received the team's Devine Award given to a player who most exemplifies leadership on and off the ice. He finished the year with six goals and 10 assists for 16 points.
Lyons, a defenseman, was named Division 3 All-State honorable mention and All-SEC honorable mention this past season. He also received the Hobey Baker Award for sportsmanship from the Michigan High School Hockey Coaches Association. He ended the year with six goals and 12 assists for 18 points.
Named Rookie of the Year for Dexter was sophomore forward Matt Stirling. He also was selected All-SEC honorable mention this season. Stirling was the Dreadnaughts' leading scorer this year with 20 goals and 15 assists for 35 points.
Junior forward Chris Carrender and Hatch shared the team's Most Improved Award. Carrender, also named All-SEC honorable mention, was third on the squad in scoring with seven goals and 15 assists for 22 points.
Earning the Coaches Award was forward Mike Clutterbuck. The junior, also selected All-SEC honorable mention, was second on the team in scoring with eight goals and 17 assists for 25 points.
Receiving the Herbst Award for a first-year player who displays the most desire to improve throughout the season was sophomore defenseman Jake Gillis.
Junior forward Connor Johnston earned the Wallace/Unrath Award given to a player who has overcome personal hardship to succeed on the ice.
Leading Dexter in plus/minus this season was Stirling with a plus-27. Carrender was next with a plus-21, while Clutterbuck and Shapiro each finished with a plus-16 and Lyons a plus-14 for the Dreadnaughts.
As a team, Dexter scored 73 goals this season for a 2.9 average per game. The Dreadnaughts allowed 56 goals this year for an average of 2.2 per contest.
Rounding out Dexter's roster this season and contributing to the Dreads' success were juniors forward Adam Boonstra, forward Zach Lucas, forward Mike Herter, forward Zeke Duke and forward Alex Erber. Sophomores on the roster included forward Kevin Mors, defenseman Brian Zhou and forward John Brosch. Freshman suiting up this year were defenseman Max Waldrup, forward Chad Crow and defenseman Andrew Erber.
