Last year, the seminar educated 25 females about self- defense. The seminar is based on the Sexual Harassment Assault Rape Prevention (SHARP) program taught across Michigan and the United States.
The class focuses on survival awareness, vehicle security, social harassment, defensive techniques, rape prevention and date rape drugs.
The seminar is broken into two, two and one-half hour sessions that will be held March 22 and March 29 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Dexter High School.
Conducting the seminar will be law enforcement personnel experienced in pressure point control tactics and SHARP techniques.
The seminar is sponsored by the Joan C. Banfield Foundation and is free of charge to the first 20 participants.
