Clarence R. Elliott

Clarence "Chuck" Elliott of Dexter, died suddenly at his home on March 6, 2008. He was 81. He was born on July 13, 1926 in Ypsilanti. He married Dolores Lore on Dec. 9, 1950.
Clarence is survived by his wife Dolores and four children, Terri (Ted) Reilly-Dyk, Judy (Steven) Snay, Daniel (Jody) Elliott, and Russell Elliott; also eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and his sisters, Betty (Bert) Davenport, Francies Quiel.
Visitation was held Monday, March 10 at Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel in Dexter. A funeral service was held on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Elliott family.
Fredrick Arthur Mammel
Chelsea
Fredrick Arthur Mammel of Chelsea died Friday, March 7, 2008 at Arbor Hospice, Ann Arbor. He was 85.
He was born October 22, 1922 in Bay City, MI, the son of Ferdinand and Margaret Mammel. On Sept. 29, 1945 he was married to Elizabeth Tschakert; she preceded him in death.
Mr. Mammel attended St. John Lutheran Church and Bay City Central High, graduating in 1940. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ann Arbor. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II before graduating from the University of Michigan. For over seven years he was active with his wife traveling the U.S. helping construct church facilities for Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod with Laborers for Christ. He volunteered over 6,000 hours at Chelsea Community Hospital. He was a past president and Lieutenant Governor of Ann Arbor Kiwanis, serving as a member for over 50 years.
Mr. Mammel retired from the City of Ann Arbor as the city engineer, in 1976. He was owner/operator of Milan Plumbing and Heating in Milan.
Surviving are three children, Richard F. (CaraJo), Dennis E. (Brenda), Sheri A. (Calvin) Woodard; daughter-in-law, Kathy Mammel; nine grandchildren, Timothy (Linda), Steven (Dannielle), Christopher (Natalie Cooper), Andrew (Katie), and Michael Mammel; Heather Conley, Bethany (Derk) Oosting, Margaret (Joshua) Burzynski and Aarika (Corey) Thomas; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas F. Mammel.
Memorial tributes may be made to Laborers for Christ, P.O. Box 229009, St. Louis, MO. 63122. Visitation was held on Sunday at Muehlig Funeral Chapel, Ann Arbor. Funeral service was held Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor.
Ralph P. Raiford Jr.
Formerly of Dexter
Ralph P. Raiford Jr. of Columbia, S.C., passed away on Jan. 12, 2008 at the Veteranís Hospital in Columbia, S.C.
He is survived by his sister, Susan Ryan Welsh, six children, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Feb. 27, 2008 at the Veteranís Cemetery in Salisbury, N.C.
