The Titans' game-winning score came off a face-off in Dexter's zone with one minute left in the extra session.
"It was a shot from the slot," said Dexter coach Gary Howell. "It was a good shot."
Howell said Dreadnaught senior goaltender Nick Ceccolini was strong in net despite the loss.
"Nick played great," he said. "The whole team played great. The only thing we didn't do is score. All the kids played well. We only took two penalties the entire game."
Though unable to score, Dexter had plenty of quality opportunities against Lumen Christi.
"We had about five or six 2-on-1 (rushes)," Howell said. "We just kept fanning on our shots in tight. We had a breakaway in overtime seconds before they (Lumen Christi) scored."
Howell said though the Dreadnaughts' season is over, he was proud of his squad's effort versus the Titans.
"I feel bad for the seniors since this is their last game," he said. "But we played a good game. The kids have nothing to be ashamed of."
Chelsea went on to win the pre-regional, defeating Lumen Christi 8-1 in the final last Thursday.
