Two of these were top eight finishes, as Kumbier swam 2:08.79 to place fourth in the 200 breaststroke and 58.86 to place fifth in the 100 breaststroke. These times were within 0.19 and 0.07 seconds, respectively, of the NCAA "B" national cuts for Division III. Kumbier also earned 14th place in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:19.06.

Other schools competing included Wabash, Wittenberg, Wooster, Allegheny, Hiram, Ohio Wesleyan, and Oberlin.
