Dreadnaught coach Gary Howell said Chelsea outworked his club.
"The difference in the game was they (Chelsea) wanted it more than we did," he said. "They seemed to win all of the battles. We did not do all the little things to win. It wasn't our best game. It was disappointing."
Though losing, Howell said Dexter senior goaltender Nick Ceccoloni played well.
"He made a lot of saves for us," he said. "He kept us in the game."
Last Saturday, the Dreadnaughts regrouped defeating visiting Milford 5-1.
"They (Milford) have beaten some pretty good teams this year," Howell said. "We showed up to play."

Earning the win between the pipes for Dexter was Ceccolini.
Howell said the Dreadnaughts' performance was much better against the Mavericks than earlier in the week versus Chelsea.
"I've been stressing to the guys to play tougher and to have an attitude around the net," he said. "We needed to be stronger on the puck."
Howell said he was pleased with Dexter's effort last Saturday.
"The kids did a good job of playing tough," he said. "We were able to win the little battles. Basically, all the things we did wrong against Chelsea, we did right against Milford."
