The Dexter High School drama club is prepped to put on a play of biblical proportions.

The club's bringing Andrew Lloyd Weber's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to the high school stage from Feb. 22 to 25.
"It's a tale of truth, deceit, jealousy and power," said director Kim Potocki. "I was involved with the play in high school and am familiar with it."
The play marks Potocki's first outing as a director even though she's not employed by Dexter Community Schools.
"I'm a bit nervous because this is the first time I've worked on a play alone," she said. "When you're directing on your own you have complete control and you're the decision maker."
Potocki assisted Dexter High School drama teacher Matt Martello with the fall show and learned plenty.
"If I need a second opinion, he's definitely willing to listen and provide me with advice and support," she said.
The advice comes in handy when she's guiding 40 actors and about 25 crew members.
But Potocki isn't sweating the gig too much.
"I'm very impressed with the students," she said. "I know many of them have been involved with the drama club and have performed in several plays, but I'm impressed with how hard they work."
Potocki said the students rehearse about four times per week.
"They're pretty intense rehearsals since the play is a musical with lots of singing and dancing," she explained. "But they pull it off and work hard."
