The Dreadnaughts (4-2, 1-0 Southeastern Conference) raced out to an 18-8 first quarter lead.

At halftime, Dexter increased its lead to 26-16.

In the third quarter, the Dreadnaughts outscored Christian 12-11 taking a 38-27 advantage into the fourth frame.

In the fourth quarter, Dexter secured its victory netting 10 points, going 8-of-10 from the free throw line, while limiting Lenawee to eight points for the final margin.

"We led the whole game," said Dexter coach Randy Swoverland. "They were able to make a small run."

Senior forward Rob Kuzon (6-foot-3) paced the Dreadnaughts with a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Junior guard T.J. Fenske added 11 points, while senior forward James Nati (6-3) had nine points.

Guard Ryan Lemasters finished with eight points, while Johnny Benjamin had seven rebounds and six assists for Dexter.

On Dec. 21, the host Dreadnaughts lost to Haslett 47-33 in Dexter's Winter Tournament.

The Vikings led 13-9 after the first quarter.

At the break, Haslett increased its lead to 27-18.

Entering the fourth quarter, the Dreadnaughts trailed 36-28.

In the fourth frame, the Vikings outscored Dexter 11-5 for the night's final margin.

The Dreadnaughts were cold from the field, ending the game 12-of-44 from the floor for 27 percent.

Nati led Dexter with 14 points.

Fenske chipped in 11 points, while Benjamin had five assists and six steals for the Dreadnaughts.

"This was a let down game," Swoverland said. "We didn't recover from the two threes the previous game (against Ypsilanti Willow Run, 49-44 overtime loss)."

To open the tournament, Dexter lost to the Flyers in overtime after leading by six points with 50 seconds left in regulation.

The Dreadnaughts ran out to a 15-9 first quarter lead.

In the second quarter, Willow Run battled back, outscoring Dexter 9-5, closing the Dreadnaughts' lead to 21-18 at the break.

In the third quarter, the Flyers netted 16 points, while limiting Dexter to 13 points, tying the contest at 34-34 entering the fourth stanza.

In the fourth quarter, the Dreadnaughts appeared to have righted the ship, leading 43-37 with 50 seconds left in the game. Willow Run, however, nailed two unanswered three-pointers in a row to force the extra session.

In overtime, the Flyers outscored Dexter 6-1 to seal their victory.

Kuzon led the Dreadnaughts with a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds. The 19 points are a season high for Kuzon.

Nati also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 boards.

Lemasters ended up with eight points, while Benjamin dished out eight assists for Dexter.

Northville captured the tournament title beating Willow Run in the final.

The Dreadnaughts next host Ann Arbor Pioneer Friday at 7 p.m.

On Tuesday, Dexter hosts Jackson Northwest at 7 p.m.

On Jan. 19, the Dreadnaughts travel to Temperance Bedford for a game at 7 p.m.
